-Revised Copy -Original Copy I have changed a couple very minor ideas in my table of contents. One little change that I have made was the font size of both the heading for each title and the font for the text below it. I did this for it to be nice and organized for the audience. For the headings I decided to make it a tad bigger to bring it out more and for the audience to understand it clearer and know what they are reading about. For the writing below I made it larger because before this it was very small and that made it difficult to read and process. I also made some grammar changes for instance repetition in words ad spelling errors. Lastly a change that I have made is that I added bullet points to the text so that it is clearly distinguished and separated from everything else. Overall making it easier for the audience and better organized.
This is my first magazine cover. In this cover there are small errors that I needed to fix which I have in the image below. There was no need to change some of the parts in this cover. For example the title, the background, and the outline of the cover needed no change but other parts did. This here is the revised magazine cover. I have made some small changes to this one but these changes are noticeable. In the two bottom pictures I have expanded them making them larger and more visible for the audience to see because before I felt as if they were too scrunched up. Another change made was when I moved the titles of the articles around. In my original I thought that they were uneven. So I expanded them throughout the cover so it didn't seem as squeezed together as the original. And lastly, I changed the font and font size on the article headings because I felt that the fonts that I have placed on the revised article looked better and were more efficient. The significance that the continuing development of digital media technology have for media institutions and audience is how social media has a big influence of media. This is because it is cheaper and quicker than the distribution of print. Print is more expensive and the distribution on media is much more convenient. Also, the majority of the audience is online increasing production. Another reason is how it is easier for the audience to consume the film. Content that is streamed online and companies like Netflix that have productions online make it a lot easier for the audience to view the content. This makes it so much more convenient for the audience and makes everything much easier. Overall, there is a huge significance on the development of digital media technologies have for media institutions and the audience.
Media whether its film, print, or music is heled by a company that a produce and distribute their own work. For example, a huge known company would be Walt Disney Television/Company owns Marvel and Time warner owns D.C Comics. They own these companies have and basically own Marvel and D.C Comics so the certain company allows all rights and owns them. They want to produce and advertise these companies to overall benefit themselves and their overall goal is to distribute the production companies’ film.
Another example of media ownership could be Sony picture – to Columbia pictures. The marketing for film is very important in media practice because the better the marketing the larger the audience will be. This is why it is important to receive a well-known major studio. For example, Viacom owns many companies like MTV Nickelodeon and Paramount pictures. It is important to have a well-known marketing company to get your film out there and recognized. However, if the marketing company fails then the producers and the owners of the film will decrease in revenue since the marketing company failed to catch the audience’s attention. This problem leads to bad marketing as media companies. Bad marketing will lead to a drop and a decrease in the audience and the amount of revenue that the companies make. For example, if the media ownership that owns the company fails to produce and fails to get the film out there and noticed it would be their fault and it would be a disaster. If the media owner ship is not known or not recognized than it might not be a great idea for the companies because the price will be way higher for these big well-known producers. If your company is small and not well known, then your prices may differ than the price for a company as 20th Century Fox. It all depends but in the long run the better the media ownership, the better the chance for the film to be recognized and watched. Media ownership and funding affect the are around us because personally I’m always seeing Disney signs, advertisements, and logos around everywhere I go. Disney is a huge corporation and effects the media around us because even when I’m driving down the road I will usually see a Disney billboard or some type of advertisement. This affects the area around me since Disney is such a large corporation. They have been around for many of years and is very well known throughout the United States and even the World. Overall media ownerships is important to market and to get the product out to the audience. It is important for these corporations to reach out on to market to increase their viewers and the audience. Including Film, radio, print, social networking, and podcasts. Even though some film studios can’t afford the major marketing corporations. These small companies get towered over by the large film producers that have plenty of money and overall decreases the smaller companies revenue. - My product doesn't use or challenge conventions and does not really represent social group or issues. My magazine and TOC is out of the normal and id different. My topics are spread out and isn't about a certain topic. it is about a general topic about sports talking about multiple different sports including, Football, Baseball, Basketball. My magazine relates to a social group. My magazine does not talk about issues but it relates to social groups by athletics and sports.
- My product engages with the audience by talking and relating the topics to sports. Topics engaging and elaborating about sports. My magazine cover appeals to my article topic. The topic is sport related and the cover is a picture of a baseball field which is a sport. The magazine article will be distributed digitally. I chose this example of a TOC layout because I really like the fact that there are pictures, head titles and page numbers all in the table of contents. This specific example I felt is wonderful and is overall a great example. This example would not really match the TOC of my front page concept. The problem would be that the theme and idea of this example is completely than mine. This theme is more of a indoor, furniture type them, while I have a sports type theme. AlsoI chose and like this example because everything is nice and organized. For example, the page numbers are lined up and ordered correctly. Also the titles on each of the page numbers are relatively about the same topic. Lastly, the font on this example is well rounded and everything fits in nice and smoothly. This TOC does match my front page except for the fact that there are multiple articles and topics in this example. Also my front article is a lot more colorful. Though overall both our layouts are basically the same, dealing with sports and athletics. Lastly I chose and like this example because I find this TOC very well organized and is also short and simple at the same time. Also for the images on the TOC there is a number where the reader can find this image and locate it. I also like how there aren't many articles and topics just like mine. This is my favorite TOC example out of all of them. The fonts on the writing also makes it better because it makes it more of a tourist theme. This TOC doesn't really match my front page article because this is more of a tourist theme while mine is more of sports and athletics. Covid Affecting Players

Response: Compared My response: ( I couldn’t get the candidates response I could only get mine in I was having issues with that) Camerawork
(Compare and Contrast) In the candidates write up they go through more of each part of the scene as it is happening, while in my write up I describe each of the 4 main categories to the responses straight forward. We overall have close to the same content whereas the candidate overall explains the scene while I state each of the categories then escribe each of them. For example the candidate talks about shots, low angle shots and high angle shots. They don specifically have that under a category. As of me where I state that under a specific category and elaborate further onto it. Overall our write ups and information are fairly similar as of the candidate generally talking in each part of the scene while I talk more specifically of the categories. ( Editing, Sound Etc) Define Intertextuality- Relationship between two types of media. Also is the shaping of a texts meaning by another meaning, including literary ones. Accidental -No intention of the relationship, readers often connect a text with another text, Optional- Prior text is there but isn't needed, or find a connection to multiple texts Obligatory- Requires prior knowledge to understand, when the writer use a comparison or association between two texts. Barack Obama - Comparing Barack Obamas face of hope and confidence to a picture of the joker comparing it to socialism. They are comparing and using the joker in politics symbolizing the jokers face on Barack Obama.
Simpsons- The original picture was a famous painting, the Simpson's inserted a character into famous painting. The other picture was of the Simpsons doing the same replica of the original painting. Stranger Things- The first picture was of stranger things . Stranger things takes inspiration from Firestarter which is an example of a movie from the 80's. So they use and take examples and ideas coming from the 80's genre. |
